Colorful undies
About I year ago I challanged myself to learn how to sew in elastic materials, something I've always had an unexplainable fear of doing. Considering the (little) time I spend sewing, it has taken me a year to feel comfortable and to be happy with the results I get. Last autumn I also got an overlocker which obviously makes helps as well.
The last few days both my sewing mashines have been cooperating very well and it was pure pleasure to update my wardrobe with a numer of well needed new underpants! To make the pattern I have copied a favorit pair I already had.

One of many covers
I've made a number of different covers lately. The very last one is this book cover made for a ten year old friend of my kids. Of course it came with a book as well! Not just any book, but my daughters favorite a few years back, The Brothers Lionheart by swedish author Astrid Lindgren.
The idea is that the birthday girl can use the cover for a tablet or anything else she wants to use it for later. I also told her I can add a handle or a shoulder strap if she wants to use it as a handbag, but that idea was declined instantly and she claimed she loved it the way it was.

Roses and roses
I spent the major part of the past weekend doing the obligatory spring tidying of the garden. My roses seems to have recovered well after i cut them down last year and there are even some buds in the coming.
When my back was acing from gardening I sat down at my sewing mashine and I finally think I have worked out good sizes for my all purpose purses which I don't seem to get enough of! These two have a lining which is made from a lovely rose fabric by Robert Kaufmann.

Babyquilts
I cut up all my scrap bits of fabrics a while ago and when a friend of mine had a baby I made him a quilt. After that I just couldn't stop myself and went on and made a few more:
The dolls need quilts as well of course:

My mothers jeans...
I helped my mother to shorten her jeans and just had to make something out of the leftovers and turned them into a little bowl!
Jag hjälpe mamma att korta sina jeans och kunde inte låta bli att göra en skål av bensluten!

Finally close to a sewing mashine again!
After a long time away from my sewing mashine I have finally landed close to a mashine I can use. My first item with my own label is a pair of tights for my daughter in an animal printed jersey I found at the market a couple of month ago. Labels from 3exter.se
Efter sommarens resor har jag äntligen tillgång till en symaskin och första plagget som dessutom pryds med egen etikett blev ett par tights till min dotter av ett stuv från marknaden i början av sommaren. Etiketter från 3exter.se

On holiday
As usual we are at our friends house on the adriatic coast at this time of the year. The picture is from last year, a beautiful stand at the market with only blue dresses, in styles and prints typical for italian housewives. Great inspiration :)
